The 30-year old man who allegedly attacked a 15 year-old girl using a hammer, and then sexually assaulted her at railway stations in Ulhasnagar East (east) was taken into custody on Saturday
According to reports, the accused kidnapped her from a skywalk near Ulhasnagar railway stations last Friday and threatened her with an electric hammer before taking her inside a dark room. She then proceeded to rape her.
After threatening her friends with severe consequences, he told them to not follow him. The man allegedly lured the girl to a lower room on the railway tracks and sexually assaulted them. She tried to flee the room, but he grabbed her and beat him. The accused then left, and she fell asleep. The accused fled the area and she ran away. She informed her family.
Seven cases have been filed against the accused for theft and other body crimes. “The accused told us that he was convicted in a criminal case and came out after completing his punishment in 2018. He is from Ulhasnagar but relocated to Pune a few years ago and had returned some eight days ago,” said a police official.
“The accused was produced in court and remanded in police custody until September 14,” said Valmik Shardul, senior inspector of Kalyan GRP.
